A guide to Wollaton

Wollaton is a suburb in the western part of Nottingham and has long been considered to be a very desirable area in which to live, thanks to the good transport links, schools and leisure opportunities on offer.

Nottingham City Centre is easily reached by car, and there are frequent buses into Nottingham City Centre. The area is rather well connected by road with the M1 motorway nearby; allowing areas such as Derby, Leicester, Mansfield, Sheffield, and Greater Birmingham to be reached within an hours’ drive. There’s a plethora of shopping opportunities within Greater Nottingham, Wollaton itself, as well as the surrounding area with the East Midlands Designer Outlet just a short drive up the motorway. As you would expect from a large city, the area is well served by amenities and services, such as Queen’s Medical Centre and East Midlands Airport.

Wollaton has much to offer and one of its jewels has to be the fantastic Wollaton Park & Hall which really sets the area apart, and can make you forget that you’re in a city – especially if you catch sight of the deer! A great place to visit, there’s always plenty to do, and it’s home to the annual Splendour Festival, the highlight of the summer.
