A big year for growth and business

Looking back over 2019, Pygott & Crone has had an incredibly successful year. As a company we have seen consistent growth in new business, we’ve had heavy involvement in charity work and local community events and have brought on board many new faces to expand the team. Pygott & Crone has also been highly recognised through well-established awards and our approach has seen us positively move the company in the right direction.

Just like any evolving business, we have welcomed growth alongside demand and have increased our teams accordingly to adapt to new waves in the industry. The last three months alone, have seen us bring in nine new team members to Residential, two to Commercial and one new team member to New Homes. We also appointed some new positions, for the staff’s well-deserved progression in the business, including; Craig Stones to Lincoln Branch Manager, Nicky Latter to Spalding Branch Manager and Frazer Downes to Grimsby Branch Manager. We have also invested heavily in our marketing department, by deciding to add two new Graphic Designers to strengthen our team. This has given us a significant advantage as we can now create all of our marketing in-house and offer a wide range of select design services to our clients.

As well as celebrating growth in 2019, we have also celebrated our achievements. These were officially recognised at the annual Negotiator Awards, the property event of the year. We were delighted to have achieved three gold awards: The Community Champion of the Year, the Website of the Year, and the East & West Midlands Estate Agency of the Year and silver for Estate Agency of the Year (5-9 branches). We also took home Best Agent Regional Award in the East Midlands at the prestigious Relocation Agent Network 2019 ceremony in London and received the Platinum Club Membership second year running. In addition, we have again been awarded the Feefo Gold Trusted Service Award for 2019, which recognised the range of positive Feefo reviews we received throughout the year. This has enabled us to continue to demonstrate our commitment to service, with our end objective continuing to be a successful and smooth property journey.



Alongside our service, Pygott & Crone has been able to offer an excellent variety of newly built properties for purchase. Our bigger development projects including One The Brayford, Handley Chase, and The Parklands, have helped build new communities and attract a variety of new buyers to the local area. Although we are proud to support Lincolnshire and aim to captivate buyers from all over the United Kingdom, this year has again seen us promote the Pygott & Crone brand internationally. In March, Tim Downing, a director at Pygott & Crone, attended the MIPIM annual real estate event in Cannes to connect with new and existing clients. Tim commented, “Pygott & Crone have been going to MIPIM for over 20 years. It’s the property event to go to with a captive audience of investors, developers, and financiers and has been a game-changer for our business.”. In the same month, fellow directors Kevin Scrupps and Paul Wood flew across the globe to attend the annual Cartus International Broker Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. This was a superb opportunity to come together with other professionals from all over, to share experiences and make long-lasting business connections. Tim also flew across to China in November, on a trade mission to promote Lincolnshire business to an international audience, achieving a very positive result.

Away from the world of business, Pygott & Crone has had a fantastically active year for charity work, starting off with the Lincoln 10K in April which was one of our biggest fundraising events to date. More than 65 dedicated runners from the company took part and raised over £10,000 for St Barnabas Hospice in Lincoln. This was a huge 233% over our original target which challenged runners of all abilities to participate, train and prepare for the big day. In June, the Relocation Agent Network Food Bank 10K campaign saw a flood of donations make it to local food banks, collected by our staff and customers across our branches and head office. Most recently in September, we were delighted to present Macmillan Cancer Support with a cheque for £1,376.28. This donation was made possible thanks to the kind support and donations during the Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. We have also participated in various annual fundraising events in 2019 and we hope to take on a few more challenges in the new year.



After taking part in raising funds for charity and taking our brand globally this year, we also celebrated a number of achievements and milestones close to home. We had the pleasure to present Relocation Agent Network Accreditation certificates to Daniel Cook from Lincoln and Shaun Oldham from Boston, for helping clients relocate across the country. Likewise, we were pleased to recognise Jasper Caudwell and Jamie Thorpe for achieving their Chartered Surveyors RICS qualifications. This year we also said goodbye to a very special employee, Margaret Whitton, who retired from Pygott & Crone after being a part of the company since it opened its doors in 1991. In addition, several members of our team including Jessica Wright, Kerri Chipperfield, and M­ichael Kelsey welcomed new additions into their families.

All in all, a fantastic year for the business and for our staff, with a huge thank you owed to all for their continued hard work. We look forward to another successful year in 2020.
