Tim Downing discusses how Pygott & Crone are expanding their sales & lettings departments across the East Midlands

I’m pleased to report that our plans to expand our operations in residential sales & lettings are nearing completion. We have just reopened our residential lettings office in Lincoln city centre after a period of time away, next door to our long-established flagship branch on Silver Street. In addition we are moving to a new branch in Nottingham city centre having maintained an office nearby for several years prior.

We are delighted that lettings department is returning to Lincoln, where we operated for many years previously. Following an internal restructure, the time is right and a lot of work has gone into the preparations to ensure that we hit the ground running and pick up where we left off – and then some!

I know that our lettings manager, Mark Brayfield, will provide us with the impetus needed to realise our potential. He’s been with us for over 22 years now and his vast experience and encyclopaedic knowledge of lettings is crucial.

Mark is responsible for Pygott & Crone’s lettings across the region, and heads a team of 7 people at the time of writing; Sally Bird has joined to head up the established Grimsby lettings department, and there are plans to recruit further. In the Lincoln office, Michael Kelsey has become lettings property manager; he previously served for a number of years as sales negotiator and valuer. Alice Lanes has also rejoined the company as lettings co-ordinator, having originally worked for the company in the same role for a number of years previously.

On the Nottingham front, the new branch on Bridlesmith Gate firmly establishes Pygott & Crone in the busy Nottingham property market. Bridlesmith Gate is on the up after a blip due to the effects of the pandemic. We’re really pleased to have acquired a great position on the north-south “retail axis” with its rich history and excellent transport links.

We’ve commissioned interior design specialists APSS to fit out the new branch and they are currently well on the way to completing a full interior refurbishment, and this is due to be completed by the end of May. They are doing a sterling job, as they have done on a number of our branches in the past. We’re looking forward to the move and welcoming customers in to branch very shortly.

One familiar face in the Nottingham branch will be Nigel Jemson, who works us as business development manager. Readers of a certain age will remember Nigel for his successful football career at Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday. He still maintains a role at the City Ground and is also our brand ambassador. And since my previous post I am pleased to confirm that we have added a further two members of staff to the Nottingham team.

This is a really exciting time for Pygott & Crone and this news has signalled our continued commitment to the High Street. We feel very positive about the future and I think we have got the balance right between traditional estate agency and our use of technology, both online and in the branch. Our success and reputation is down to our people who work hard, are well supported, and receive the necessary training to deliver a first class service.
