Cleethorpes is a hot spot in the property market| Published in Market Insights on 6 December 2016 by our Marketing Team

I have recently seen a lot of interest in particular postcode areas in Cleethorpes and Grimsby, where I manage two branches of our award-winning estate agency. Cleethorpes has certainly proven itself to be a hot spot in terms of properties this year and our newest office on St Peter’s Avenue has further confirmed this. We’re delighted to say that we have completed more that £5.5 million worth of sales across our Cleethorpes and Grimsby branches in one month alone.

The DN35 postcode has seen a lot of interest recently, with house prices performing particularly well and buyers looking to snap up properties at a time where Cleethorpes is seeing a lot of investment, regeneration and hosting huge national events. We’re all rooting for Sea View Street to win Great British High Street this year and delighted that we’re able to contribute to the growing economy in this area.

Both Scartho – DN33 – and Humberston – DN36 – are also performing extremely well. Due to the region-wide lack of good quality housing stock anything coming to market is selling extremely quickly. A new development, which has recently come to market – Seaview Court, Cambridge Street – has received a lot of interest in particular. We held an open day last week and the reception was incredible; modern, contemporary properties new to the market are selling extremely quickly and it’s certainly an excellent time for the area.

There are a number of other exciting new developments starting to take shape in Cleethorpes and we’re very happy to see an increase in the level of housing which will go a long way to alleviating the housing crisis we’re experiencing in the area. Pygott & Crone has had a presence in North East Lincolnshire for almost 10 years and we were delighted to further extend its offering by opening a Cleethorpes office earlier this year.

I would encourage anyone looking to put their house on the market before Christmas to do so – there’s certainly still time and with properties being snapped up within days of coming to market. It may be cold outside but North East Lincolnshire’s postcodes are definitely still hot.
