At Pygott & Crone, we are delighted to extend our sponsorship of Barrowby Football Club for a further two years, continuing our commitment to supporting grassroots football and the local community. Since first sponsoring the club in the middle of 2021, it has been incredible to witness its remarkable growth and development.
As someone who lives nearby, I regularly walk my dogs around the playing fields and have seen first-hand how much the club has flourished. From 200 players across 14 teams when our sponsorship began, the club has now grown to over 300 players in 22 teams. One of the most inspiring aspects of this expansion has been the rise in female participation, with the number of girls playing football increasing from just 20 in 2022 to over 70 players across five teams.
Barrowby Football Club has credited our sponsorship with helping to unify the teams under one identity, creating a stronger sense of community from the Under-6s through to the Under-18s. As a grassroots club, these connections are vital in strengthening ties within the wider community. The club has become a thriving hub for young footballers, and we are immensely proud to play a role in their journey.
Having played football with some of the individuals who run the club, I have always felt a close bond with everyone involved. It is fantastic to see the impact that continued investment can have—not just on the pitch, but in fostering a positive, inclusive environment where young players can develop their skills and passion for the game.
