The challenge was simple: complete a 100 kilometre total distance over the 37 days from Boxing Day until the end of January 2025.

The charity that was chosen was CoppaFeel! – the breast cancer awareness charity. Many of our friends and families have been through, or are currently being treated for breast cancer. In fact, breast cancer is the most common type of cancer in the UK.

Another successful challenge completed! #BreastCancer100

You may recall that Pygott & Crone have organised 100 kilometre challenges before, particularly in 2020 when we were blessed with over 250 participants. We felt (after giving everyone a break for a couple of years!) that 2024 was the year to bring the challenge back.

The challenge was open to everyone, you didn’t have to be connected to the estate agency industry. For previous challenges we were honoured to receive support from extended families and friends, local businesses; as well as leading personalities, agents and suppliers from the world of estate agents.

A big thank you to everyone who completed the challenge, and to everyone who supported or donated!

What kind of activities did people do?

You didn’t have to be a fitness fanatic to take part in the BreastCancer100 – in fact we were looking to get as many people involved as possible!

  • running
  • walking
  • cycling
  • treadmill
  • exercise bike
  • hiking
  • swimming
  • rowing
  • or any other physical activity you could think of!

One participant went above and beyond by running 104km, and then skiing a further 206km!

100 kilometres in 37 days sounded like a lot, but it’s actually only about 12 and a half miles per week (20 kilometres).

The BreastCancer100 challenge started on Boxing Day, and was the perfect opportunity to burn some Christmas calories off…to get out in the fresh air…to be more physically active….to be healthier and happier.

Who took part?

So far, 55 people have signed up for the BreastCancer100, which starts on Boxing Day!

CoppaFeel!

CoppaFeel! – the breast cancer awareness charity – do fantastic work in encouraging women to regularly check their breasts. Anyone can get breast cancer, whether they are younger or older, and it is the most common type of cancer in the UK – on average over 56,000 cases are diagnosed each year.

They educate people on the signs and symptons of breast cancer and encourage them to check their chests regularly. When diagnosed early, treatments for breast cancer are more effective and survival rates are higher. Early detection saves lives.

Thank you.
